Process

  1. You take 3 photographs of the intended subject: full face, 3/4 and profile. Try for same expression in each shot.

  2. I rough out skull shape and basic features in clay, then I mold in alginate and inject wax for further fine sculpting.

  3. As the head approaches completion it is mounted on the body and married seamlessly to the neck.

  4. Then the entire piece is molded in RTV rubber and cast in urethane. After priming, it is painstakingly painted, given a protective clearcoat and the tulle veil is affixed to the head.
